Fundraising

Our chosen charities

To celebrate Leigh Trust’s 10 year anniversary at Nansen we raised money for two local charities: Our Community Foundation and Birmingham City Mission.

Leigh Trust Enterprise Scheme

Our Year 6 children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Leigh Trust Enterprise Scheme and showed remarkable entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to this project.

6C and 6P took on the challenge of making and selling popcorn cones, while 6B and 6A crafted delicious chocolate rice crispy cakes to sell at the summer fair. The children's enthusiasm was infectious as they worked tirelessly alongside Year 6 staff to prepare, package, and sell their treats throughout the school.

Their commitment to the cause was evident in their creative marketing efforts, including designing posters to remind their schoolmates to bring money for the sales. The pupils even sacrificed some of their playtimes to ensure they could reach as many customers as possible.

The results of their hard work were truly impressive. 6C and 6P raised £216 from their popcorn sales, while 6B and 6A generated £245 from their chocolate rice crispy cakes. The children were rightfully proud of their achievements, knowing that their efforts will make a real difference to the charities involved - the OCF (Naseby Community Centre).

This experience has not only taught our pupils valuable lessons in being supportive, part of our CARES values, but also instilled in them teamwork and a sense of community responsibility. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and the positive impact they have made.

Our Year 4 children, in a brilliant display of entrepreneurship and community spirit, embarked on an enterprise project to raise funds for the OCF (Naseby Community Centre) charity.

The challenge? To create and sell sweet cones, with each class competing to raise the most money. The enthusiasm and creativity shown by our young entrepreneurs were truly inspiring. They threw themselves into the task, crafting delightful, sweet cones and then promoting and selling their creations with gusto.

The competition was fierce, with each class pulling out all the stops to outsell their peers. In the end, 4S emerged victorious, raising the largest sum for our chosen charity. As a reward for their outstanding efforts, they enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon at The Naseby Centre. Well done, Year 4!

Teddy bears picnic - Nursery and Reception

Our Nursery and Reception children were abuzz with excitement as we hosted a delightful teddy bear picnic to raise money for our charity - OCF. It was heartwarming to see our children arrive at school in their own clothes, clutching their favourite teddy bears. The joy on their faces as they shared this special moment with their parentswas truly priceless. We raised £150!

Trussell Trust - Year 1 and 2

Our Year 1 and 2 children have been very busy collecting dry packet and tinned food for Trussell Trust, demonstrating our CARES values – supportive.

To recognise and celebrate their hard work, we planned a special reward for all the children. They enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon as a token of ourappreciation for their kindness and community spirit.

The first prize was awarded to 2I who collected the most food and they were treated to a special visit to our forest school and the second prize was an art afternoon, allowing our young creatives to express themselves. Children collected over 200 items of food!

Walking Challenge Year 3 and 5

Years 3 and 5 Year 5 successfully completed the challenge of walking a kilometre a day, reaching an impressive total of 10 kilometres in support of the OCF charity. Each child was provided with a sponsor form and independently raised money from friends and family for their sponsored walk and the charity. Through their hard work and dedication, they managed to raise a fantastic £403!

Children thoroughly enjoyed their walks and appreciated the leisurely chats they had while walking.

A special congratulations goes to 3H and 5F, who raised the most money in their year groups and earnt an exciting trip to the community centre, where they had a fantastic time playing games, engaging in team challenges, and spending time with their friends. The remaining classes through their hard work and effort were also rewarded with a fun arts and crafts afternoon, where they got creative and painted beautiful canvases to take home as keepsakes.

Year 3 and 5 staff were thrilled to support the children throughout their fundraising efforts, even joining in on some of the fun during the walk and activities. We are incredibly proud of all the children for their amazing dedication in raising money for charity and supporting such a great cause!

Parent workshop - The Hub

Our Hub hosted a superb parent workshop that brought together families for a fun and creative activity - making Play-Doh! This hands-on session was a wonderful opportunity for parents to engage with their children in a playful and educational manner. Our families thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Their enthusiasm and engagement were truly heartening to see.
