Play Leaders

Our play leaders at Nansen Primary School are a group of children, who have been trained to organise and support fun, safe and engaging activities for their peers at breaktime and lunch times on the playgrounds. They embody the values of our school, CARES, and strive to be great role models, showcasing kindness, friendliness, and a supportive attitude.

The role and responsibility of being a play leader helps promote our pupils' wellbeing, self-confidence, teamwork, and social skills, all with the aim of increasing physical activity during break and lunch times. Our play leaders work closely with staff to set up and put away the various activities, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate and enjoy their time on the playground.

Through their involvement as play leaders, our pupils have a valuable avenue to provide feedback and suggestions for improving the break and lunch time provision. This pupil voice helps us continuously update and refresh the activities, keeping them exciting and engaging for all.

At Nansen Primary School, we believe in the power of leadership and the positive impact it can have on our community. Our play leaders are not only shaping the experiences of their peers but also developing essential life skills that will serve them well in the future. We are proud to support and empower these young leaders as they contribute to the vibrant and inclusive environment that defines our school.
